The recipes throughout this website will specify which grill function, temperature and time setting to use. You may need to make minor adjustments depending on which type of Ninja Grill you have.
Grill Functions
The process of grilling often involves cooking with indirect heat or direct heat. With Ninja Grills, the smoker function is indirect heat and the grill function is direct heat. You can use the smoker function without adding pellets if you don’t want to add smoke flavor.
Temperature Settings
Temperature setting options will vary depending on the model of your grill and the function you use. Some functions allow you to choose the actual temperature. Some functions only offer low, medium or high. Low can range from 225-300F. Medium is about 325-375F and high is 400-500F.
Time
Recipes on this site suggest that you add more cooking time than the recipe actually needs. This way, if you do end up wanting to cook the food a little longer, you don’t risk the grill turning off mid-cook.
One of the coolest features about Ninja Grills is that they use convection technology, so often recipes cook up a lot faster than on other types of grills.
In addition to cook time, you’ll also need to account for preheat time, which varies depending on your model of grill and the function you select.
